Our goal for Wingin’ It this year is to raise $75,000 that will further the mission of Wings and
directly impact our members as well as the greater Oklahoma City community.
I am a Young Professionals Board member for Wings. And as with everyone earlier this year, we
had every intention to host our annual event, Wingin’ It, to support the members at Wings.
Unfortunately, things got a little complicated when COVID-19 hit, but the Young Professionals
Board has put in a lot of time and thought into what would be the appropriate next steps for our
event as we wanted to continue to support Wings while remaining sensitive to the fact that
everyone has challenges and struggles right now. We have decided to move forward with a
multi-day virtual event that will start on Wednesday, November 11 and go through Saturday,
November 14!
One of the high points during this pandemic has been learning more about what the Wings
members have been up to since March. They have been helping other Oklahomans in need by
packaging hygiene kits, assembling emergency food kits, writing personal letters of
encouragement to assist local non-profits and much more.
This year, our goal for Wingin’ It is to raise $75,000, and the money raised will be used to further
the mission of Wings and directly impact our members as well as the greater Oklahoma City
community. Please know I understand that everyone is under a little more stress these days,
and it’s hard to know the best way to give back. This opportunity would be a perfect outlet to
aid our fellow Oklahomans who are in need, and a donation of $100 or greater will also get you
a Wingin’ It party box!
