We can enable Wings members to help those in need.

I am a Young Professionals Board member for Wings. And as with everyone earlier this year, we

had every intention to host our annual event to raise funds to support the members at Wings.

Unfortunately, things got a little complicated when COVID hit. The Young Professionals Board

put a lot of time and thought into what would be the appropriate next steps for our event as we

wanted to continue to support Wings, while remaining sensitive to the fact that everyone has

challenges and struggles right now.

We have decided to move forward with a multi-day virtual event that will take place over the

weekend of November 13th! Since March, Wings members helped others in need by packaging

hygiene kits, assembling emergency food kits and writing personal letters of encouragement to

assist local non-profits and Oklahomans in need. And as I mentioned above, our goal for Wingin’

It this year is to raise $75,000 that will provide hygiene kits for approximately 18,750 citizens in

our community.

So, in a sense, Wingin’ It this year will have double the impact- supporting Wings mission and its

members along with providing hygiene kits that will ultimately help those in need during these

trying times.

Please know I understand that everyone is under a little more stress these days. Many people

want to help but they just don’t know how, and this opportunity would be a perfect outlet to aid

our fellow Oklahomans who are in need.
